Veronica Pialorsi
Media Psychologist & Psychotherapist

Who I am
Order of Psychologists of Lombardy num. 20368.

I am a Constructivist Psychotherapist specialized in Media Psychology.

It is the interest in people's stories that led me to choose the job of psychologist; and it is the curiosity and sense of freedom that travel brings with it that have pushed me to travel and live in different countries.

In this sense, I like to think that stories and journeys have a lot in common; they allow us to explore, to broaden our views and perspectives, they bring new doubts and questions, and they help us find answers.

My approach to psychological support and psychotherapy focuses on authentic interest and deep attention to the person's life stories.

I understand psychotherapy as a journey of exploration of the person's history, in which therapist and patient venture together, side by side.
Understanding the person's history leads to understanding their choices, placing the difficulty they are experiencing in a broader sense.

I welcome my patients not as people to be changed, but as people fundamentally committed to building and rebuilding their lives and giving meaning to what happens to them. This opens up space for a reality made of alternatives, which flows and is constantly changing.
Training
My training in clinical psychology was completed at the University of Padua in 2011 and proceeded to the UK, where I completed a PhD in media psychology, delving into topics related to the impact of new technologies and social media on our social and relational life.
Media psychology deals with understanding the person's relational life in online social contexts.
The role that new media and social media have in our lives is increasingly central and this implies that digital interactions become significant in the individual's personal history, especially for younger people. For this reason, even in a psychotherapy process, it is essential for me to give space and understand the person's experiences in online social contexts as well as in offline ones.

I also obtained four-year specialization in constructivist psychotherapy. This approach to psychotherapy is based on a vision of the person in their uniqueness and in their entirety, committed to giving meaning to their experiences and their relational life. In light of this theory, the person is seen as a 'scientist' who experiments through his experiences, in an attempt to find the most viable path for himself.
