Why choose to start a psychotherapy journey? In some phases of life it may happen that you feel like you have no alternative and that you cannot find a solution to the problem you are experiencing. This leads us to feel stuck, stalled, with no way out. Psychotherapy can help you find new ways to cope with the difficult time you are facing. It is a path of research and change, aimed at discovering new perspectives to read the difficulty you are going through in a new light and build alternative ways to deal with it.

It will last 50 minutes, I will ask you questions to understand your request and propose a personalized therapy path. The first interview is essential to define the objectives of the path together in light of the difficulty you are experiencing.

How long will the treatment take? There is no universal answer to this question. Each therapy is different, just as each person is unique in their way of seeing things and therefore also of approaching the therapeutic path. For this reason it is difficult to define a priori how long a journey can last. The duration of the therapy is therefore defined along the way, agreed between you and the therapist. It is important that, also with respect to this topic, you feel free to communicate if you feel you want to finish the journey to understand together which is the most useful choice for you.

How do I understand which psychotherapist to choose? There are many approaches to psychotherapy that are based on different theories to understand a person's behavior and various ways to support them during a clinical journey. The most effective way to choose which therapy is best for you is to talk about it with your therapist during the first interview. During the first interview, we will be able to get to know each other, you will be able to ask for all the information you need and we will be able to understand how to proceed together.

What is the difference between a psychologist and a psychotherapist? The psychologist is a professional who has a degree in psychology and is certified in the psychologists' register. It offers psychological support services, which usually do not exceed 8 clinical meetings; follows the person in the initial phase of a path and guides them towards the most appropriate therapy, if it is useful to continue with a more complex clinical path. The psychotherapist, in addition to a degree in psychology, has a specialization in psychotherapy, usually lasting 4 years. It can follow the person on longer therapeutic paths than those of psychological support. Both psychologists and psychotherapists cannot generally prescribe pharmacological therapies.

What is media psychology about?Media psychology deals with understanding a person's relational life in online social contexts. The role that new media and social media have in our lives is increasingly central and this implies that digital interactions become significant in the individual's personal history, especially for younger people. For this reason, even in a psychotherapy process, it is essential for me to give space and understand the person's experiences in online social contexts as well as in offline ones.

What is meant by constructivist psychotherapy? The reference theory that guides constructivist psychotherapy is that of George Kelly's Personal Constructs. This theory offers a vision of the person in their uniqueness and entirety, committed to giving meaning to their experiences and their relational life. In light of this theory, the person is seen as a ' scientist ' who experiments through his experiences, in an attempt to find the most viable path for himself. The aim of the therapy is therefore to understand the meaning of the person's choices and to find new alternatives with them to deal with the difficulties with greater awareness.
